Philadelphia wedding DJ

Your story, properly scored.

You've got one reception. No do-overs, no "we'll fix it in post." DJ GMi handles the music, the mic, and the moving parts so you're actually in the room for your own wedding — not managing it.

Serving weddings throughout Philadelphia, the Main Line, Delaware County, Montgomery County, Chester County, South Jersey, and Wilmington, Delaware.

How this actually works

Music is the last thing we plan. Not the first.

Most people think hiring a DJ means picking songs. It doesn't. It means someone is going to run your reception timeline, talk to your venue and planner, read the room in real time, and make sure the transitions — first dance, toasts, cake, open floor — happen without an awkward silence. The playlist matters. The choreography around it matters more.

01Planning call

We talk through your day — vibe, must-plays, do-not-plays, family dynamics, anything that needs a heads-up.

02Timeline build

We coordinate with your planner or venue coordinator so every announcement lands on cue, not on guesswork.

03Final details

A week out, we lock the run-of-show: names, pronunciations, special dances, and backup plans.

04Reception day

Setup, sound check, MC, and music — all handled, all on time, with a backup system running quietly in case anything fails.

What couples actually worry about

Peace of mind, not just playlists.

Your reception has one shot to go right. Most of what makes it go right happens before you ever hear a song — the planning, the communication with your venue, the person who's actually watching the clock so you don't have to.

✓ One point of contact from booking to last song
✓ Coordination with your planner or venue, not around them
✓ Announcements that sound like a person, not a radio ad
✓ Backup equipment on-site, every time, no exceptions

Questions couples ask

Straight answers, before you ask.

Here's what most couples want to know before they reach out. If yours isn't here, just ask.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Philadelphia?

For DJ GMi, wedding packages start at $1,500 for a covered reception and go up from there based on hours, ceremony sound, lighting, and venue size. Most Philadelphia-area couples land in the $2,000–$3,500 range once ceremony and reception are both covered.

Do you take song requests, and can we do a do-not-play list?

Yes to both. We build your must-plays and do-not-plays into the plan ahead of time, and we take live requests from your guests too — we just use judgment about when they fit the night.

Will you actually MC, or just play music?

Both. Announcements, introductions, and keeping the timeline moving are part of every package — that's usually the part couples care about most once they've been to a wedding where it went wrong.

What happens if your equipment fails mid-reception?

We run backup gear on-site at every event. If something fails, the room doesn't know it happened.

How far in advance should we book our wedding DJ?

Most couples book 6–12 months out, especially for popular Saturday dates in spring and fall. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway — availability sometimes opens up.
